Club Newsletter 10/23/02
Hi, athletes!
First: Angel and Brian are the proud parents of
Madison Elizabeth!
She was born sometime in the last few days. All are doing well!
Congratulations to
Angel and Brian!
The workout tonight: 2 sets of 5 X 400M plus 1 with a 200M jog. Run one
every 3:00, jog 400M between sets. Sounds like fun, huh? Please be sure to
dress for the weather, as it will be cold and blustery on the track. If it
rains Coach Savage will take you indoors to run 2-lappers. Time to pack for
both possibilities. I probably will not attend practice due to a bad cold.
Believe me I wish I could be there because I love this workout! DO YOUR
STRETCHES AFTER PRACTICE.
This weekend is the Sycamore Pumpkin Run - REMEMBER TO TURN YOUR CLOCKS BACK
1 HOUR ON SATURDAY NIGHT. Coaches Savage will not be going to Sycamore so
you'll need to get there on your own. GOOD LUCK TO ALL!
The final race of the Circuit is Westchester on November 10th. Please
register thru Coach Savage, get your applications in to Coach Savage by next
week, October 30th.
Is anyone interested in running the River to River Race in April? This is a
relay race in southern Illinois, run in teams with varying distances. If
yes, please email me back today! The application time is open, and will
close very quickly.
Mark your calendar for this year's PUB RUN!! The date will be Sunday,
December 8th, commencing at 2:00PM from NWHS. Details to follow!
And, the CARA Awards Banquet is January 25th, 2003. If you plan on going
and want to sit with the team, please give your reservation card to Pat
Savage.
And, finally, get ready for the S-NO-W FUN 5-Mile Run, usually held the
first Saturday of January! This is billed as a party with a race, and last
year we had a great time!! We'll pass along the particulars as soon as we
get them.
