Good day to all athletes! This weekend are the Westchester 10K and 5K Races, both CARA Circuit events. These are the final races for the Circuit year, so come on out and show your stuff! Coach Savage should have your entries already; if not you can register on Race Day.

Contrary to what the workout schedule says, Coach Savage will not have the van parked at the finish line; the van won’t even be there because Coach Savage will be in Texas at the Junior College National XC Championships with Jimmy Milner. GOOD LUCK, JIMMY!!

The workout Wednesday night is 8 X 300M with a 300M jog, run one every 3:30. This is a speed and form workout….and will warm us up for PIZZA!!! Yes, once again it’s that special night of every month when we travel over to the legendary Barnaby’s for pizza after practice. Come hungry!! Cheese pizza is $6, other pizzas are $7 (this is the odd month).

As a side note, we will practice outdoors thru the end of November. unless it gets really cold. If you’re unsure, bring clothes for both indoors and outdoors, and come into the school to find out what the plan is.

Coach Savage is planning a practice the Wednesday night before Thanksgiving. He says if you’re good he’ll take you out for turkey afterwards
no, we’ll go for a beer. Coach and I will be on vacation the following week, and are looking for someone to coach practice on December 4th. Any volunteers?

On Sunday, November 17th a bunch of NWORC runners are planning on participating in the Heartland Café Harvest Run. This is a totally fun run, as you’ll soon find out, with a nice brunch afterward at the Heartland Café. The address is 7000 N. Glenwood Avenue, Chicago, start time is 8AM. You can sign up race day, on line or print an entry from the website (www.heartlandcafe.com) and mail it in. Should be fun!

And, on Sunday, November 24th, the Lincolnwood Turkey Trot 5K-10K-Kids Race will be held. This is also a fun race, and the big draw is the party at Rich Machalinski’s house after the races! Many of your teammates will be there, so come on out! Race details online (www.chicagoevents.com); check with Rich about the party.

Team party is tentatively set for Saturday, February 1st at Dave & Gloria Moyer’s house in Skokie. Mark it in your calendars!

Don’t forget:

S-No-W Fun Run, first weekend in January CARA Awards Banquet, January 25th

That’s all, folks! See you at practice! Melissa
