Buon giorno to all! Yes, the Coaches have returned from their whirlwind tour of the Eternal City – ROMA. We had a great time, taking in the sights and doing our part to support the Italian wine industry. We stopped in to see the Pope but he was a little busy; he did, however, ask about all of you and blessed the club…

Yes, we were jetlagged but still managed to thoroughly enjoy the 13th Annual Pub Run on Sunday. Although many of you said you were joining the party, attendance was a little disappointing: too cold for you guys?? For those who came along on the bar-hop, thanks and did we have fun or what??

Okay, practice for this week!! We are running in the fieldhouse now until Spring, so remember every week to bring the appropriate clothing and WATER. It’s really dry in the gym, and the water in the fountain is skanky.

THE WORKOUT:
Run 2 sets of 6 X 1 lap in the 4th lane with a 1-lap jog, run one every 2:10. Jog 2 laps between sets. The schedule says to run faster than last week – we’ll take your word for what that was. And, lest we forget, IT’S PIZZA NIGHT!!!!

TEAM PHOTO NIGHT ON WEDNESDAY, DECEMBER 18th. BRING YOUR TEAM SINGLET AND A BIG SMILE. If you need a team singlet, see Coach Savage.

Coach Savage will hold practice Monday night, December 16 in the fieldhouse. If you’d like an extra workout for the week, come on over. We will still have practice on the 18th as usual. Also, we will have practice on Monday night, December 23rd (not 24th as stated on the schedule) since Christmas is on Wednesday. Don’t know yet about Monday before New Years – will get that information for you.

Dave Polin has a brand spanking new treadmill for sale! If you’re interested, contact him at dpolin@hotmail.com. He’s giving a great deal on it; consider it an early Christmas present for yourself!!

Okay, events coming up: S-No-W Fun Run on Saturday, January 4th in Lake Geneva, Wisconsin! Race is in the afternoon, party is in the evening. It’s an easy day trip for most of you. Check the spindle for race applications. Only those registered for the race will get free beer – all others have to pay. What incentive, huh??

Niles West Open Track Meets: Fridays, January 17th-24th-31st. These are terrific events for testing your speed against the local talent! If you aren’t running, please volunteer to help – we need you!
