Good day, Athletes!

Well, it looks like winter might FINALLY be shaking its’ grip on us. Don’t want to say too much because of the potential for jinx. I’m pretty sick of the “lion” part of March and look forward to the “lamb” days. WE DESERVE IT.

But, no, this little warm-up doesn’t mean we’re outside this week, despite pressure from certain people who will remain nameless but sounds like DeWitt… We really need to wait until the evening temperatures are warm enough to do a good workout. Gotta keep those muscles warm and pliable! So, this week, my friends, we are inside for the workout. AND THE WORKOUT IS: 8 X 800M, run one every 5:00. There is NO track meet, so practice will start at 6:30 (warm-up at 6PM) as usual.

Monday, March 17th: if you want to come and work out in the weight room, I’ll be there at 5:30. And, since it’s a special day, there is a plan to go for a wee pint o’ Guinness at Murphy’s, an Irish pub place Stuart found. I think the address is 7305 Waukegan, just north of Touhy. Coach Savage will be at a banquet, will join us just as soon as he can escape.

WE NEED VOLUNTEERS for the NWORC’s Shamrock water station on March 23rd. Please let Coach Savage know if you can help out!!

If you haven’t paid team dues for March please make sure to do so this week at practice. The outdoor season officially begins on March 26th; if you haven’t filled out a waiver lately, please do so and turn it in to either Coach or me.

That’s all for now – see you on the oval.

Melissa
